Anwender Cattle Company was formed in 1998 by Gary and Kim Anwender.  Shorthorns have been in the family since the early 1940's when Peter Anwender (Gary's father) started Bar P Shorthorns with 2 purebred heifers.  The Bar P herd was dispersed in 1997 and only a few purebred females remained until 2006. We decided that we would go from a mostly commercial based herd back to predominately purebred herd. Our daughter, Sadie, and Kim’s love for the breed has us showing again!!! Sadie is now the 3rd generation Anwender with a purebred herd!!  Our farm is located on Sadie's great-grandfather's (Bjork) homestead.  He homesteaded this land in 1905---making it a Century Family Farm. In 2007, we were very fortunate to be able to lease an excellent group of females from Diamond Shorthorns. We believe that these females will be beneficial to our breeding program.
